I'm excited to announce the launch of designersinprogress.com, the online home of Designers In Progress, a student-run design club at CSU Chico for students interested in design, illustration, photography, and related business.

As the president of the Designers In Progress club for the 2010-2011 school year, this website is part of a concerted effort towards encouraging new membership, especially with students new to Chico State. The website will offer students one consistent location to find news and information about DIP speakers and events, and a place to connect with past DIP alumni. Eventually, I'd like to expand the site to showcase student work as well.

The website is running a customized version of Wordpress, which is perfectly suited for this sort of site, which has a mix of regular pages and news posts. I handled all parts of the project, from design and theme development to content creation and web hosting. Although copywriting isn't something I specialize in, this website gave me the opportunity to practice my writing skills and is a significant improvement compared to previous DIP websites.
